Building the Foundation for Caident’s MVP

Caident is an early-stage startup developing AI-powered tools for the fire sprinkler industry. As a founding web developer, I was brought in to design and build their entire web platform from the ground up. While their core team focused on developing the AI-driven desktop application, my role was to define the product’s web experience — from crafting the brand’s messaging and site content to architecting and implementing the technical foundation using WordPress and WooCommerce.

The project required a scalable web platform capable of managing user accounts, product licensing, and integrations with Caident’s desktop software. Beyond serving as the company’s digital presence, the site needed to function as the central hub for license distribution, authentication, and communication between users and the application — forming the foundation for Caident’s connected product ecosystem.

From Concept to Connected Platform

To help Caident bring its first product to life, I led the development of its web platform development that connects users, licensing, and the company’s AI-powered fire sprinkler design software. As a new startup, Caident needed a complete digital presence and a scalable system to support its product vision and future growth.

Website Design & Development

Built from the ground up using WordPress and WooCommerce, the platform was designed to balance simplicity and performance. I implemented a clean, modern interface that aligned with Caident’s brand and product goals, while ensuring users could easily navigate between marketing content, account management, and software access.

Custom Licensing Infrastructure & Integrations

To power Caident’s licensing system, I developed secure REST API endpoints that connected the web platform to the desktop application. Beyond that, I extended WooCommerce and other installed plugins with custom PHP logic to meet the project’s unique requirements — including multi-license management, activation handling, and real-time validation.

Product Experience & Customer Journey

I collaborated closely with Caident’s founders to shape the early customer experience — defining how users would learn about, purchase, and activate the product. Our goal was to build a clear and engaging journey from first impression to activation, combining product storytelling with a frictionless purchase and onboarding flow.

Scalable Foundation for Growth

Beyond the MVP, the platform was architected for expansion — allowing new features, products, and integrations to be added with minimal overhead. This flexibility ensures Caident can scale quickly as its software offerings and customer base grow.
